I. Prepare GECKO operation
1 | Attach the inspection mirror
Auto glass specialists like to follow the crack filling from the outside via the mirror. For this purpose, a bright LED light is included in the scope of delivery.
2 | Clean the point of impact with the carbide probe
Loose glass fragments and dirt particles are removed from the impact point.
3 | Attach the tray for the repair fixture
The tray should be placed approx. 20-30 cm next to the stone chip.
4 | Switch on the GECKO
The device is switched on and off via a toggle switch that completely disconnects the device from the power supply when not in use.
5 | Start the repair programme
The display on the screen now prompts the user to fill the resin tank.
6 | Unscrew the resin tank
Unscrew the resin tank from the repair fixture.
7 | Fill with ProGlass Repair Resin VR-505AF
Fill the resin tank with ProGlass repair resin VR-505AF.
8 | Screw the filled resin tank back in
9 | Continue to the next step with ENTER
II. Attach hoses
10 | Note the display on the screen
The display on the screen prompts you to connect the connection hoses.
11 | Connect hoses to GECKO
The hoses are equipped with unmistakable plug-in couplings.
12 | Connect hoses to the repair fixture
Blue to blue and black to black; very clear thanks to the unmistakable plug connections.
13 | Press the PUMP key
The pumps are activated with the PUMP key.
14 | Note the display on the screen
The screen prompts you to place the repair fixture on the impact point.
III. Attach the GECKO
15 | Attaching the repair fixture
- The repair fixture is attached above the damaged area as shown on the screen so that the point of impact lies within the red injector seal, ideally in the lower half.
- To do this, bring the repair fixture close to the window and check the correct positioning in the mirror.
- If the position is correct, the repair fixture is lowered completely onto the glass.
- As soon as the outer (black) seal is completely in contact with the glass surface, the repair fixture automatically sucks onto the pane through the vacuum generated by the vacuum pump and is thus fixed.
If it is necessary to correct the position afterwards, hold the repair fixture with one hand, loosen the connection of the black hose with the other hand and remove the fixture from the glass. Now connect the hose again and reposition the repair fixture. We do not recommend violently moving the fixture on the pane, as this could lead to an unwanted enlargement of the damaged area.

IV. The GECKO starts its work
17 | Venting or vacuuming the stone chip damage
For 60 seconds, the damaged area is dried using vacuum.
18 | Wait for beep
After the 60 seconds, the GECKO sends an acoustic signal (beep). The screen indicates that the resin chamber should be rotated 180 degrees.
19 | Turn resin chamber
By rotating the resin chamber by 180 degrees, the resin can now run to the impact point.
20 | Press ENTER
Execution of the operating step is confirmed with the ENTER key and the actual repair begins.
21 | Start the repair programme
The now automatic repair process takes 10 minutes and 40 seconds.
22 | Wait for beep
After the automatic program has finished, the GECKO sends again an acoustic signal (beep) and indicates the next steps.
23 | Turn back the resin chamber
Turn the resin chamber back to the starting position (tip up).
24 | Disconnect the blue hose
First disconnect the blue hose ...
25 | Disconnect the black hose
... then the connection of the black hose. Make sure to secure the repair fixture with one hand.
26 | Hang up hoses
Hang the hoses in the slots in the tray.
27 | Lift the repair fixture off the window
Lift the repair base off the window and catch any escaping resin immediately with cleaning paper (paper towel).
28 | Hang the repair base in the tray
Roughly wipe the repair fixture on the underside and also hang it in the holder of the tray.
29 | Press ENTER
Confirm the execution of the step with the ENTER key.
30 | Note the display on the screen
The GECKO switches to the next screen and prompts you to apply the pit filler resin.
V. Applying the pit filler
31 | Drip the pit filler resin on the glass
Let a drop of ProGlass pit filler resin VR-405AF drip onto the glass just above the point of impact.
32 | Cover with a Mylar
... and cover it with a Mylar square as soon as it has run down and filled the point of impact.
33 | Press ENTER
Confirm the execution of the step again by pressing the ENTER key.
34 | Note the display on the screen
In the next screen, the GECKO prompts you to attach the UV lamp.
35 | Connect the UV lamp to the GECKO
Connect the plug of the UV lamp to the socket on the GECKO.
36 | Fix suction cup
Place the suction cup of the lamp on the glass approx. 5 cm next to the stone chip and fold the head of the lamp so that the LED equipped head covers the stone chip.
37 | Activate UV Lamp
Pressing the UV key activates the UV lamp.
38 | Cures in just 45 seconds
The high-performance LEDs cure the ProGlass resin in just 45 seconds.
39 | Clean the repair fixture
The repair fixture should be cleaned during this time. The screen on the GECKO shows the correct procedure.
40 | Cleaning
Hold a clean cleaning paper against the underside of the repair fixture. Now connect the blue hose, as shown on the screen, twice for a second. The inflowing compressed air blows through all channels inside the repair fixture and cleans them from excess resin.
41 | Press ENTER
Confirm that the cleaning has been carried out by pressing the ENTER key. This switches off the pumps of the GECKO and the device returns to the initial screen.
42 | Remove equipment from the windscreen
Remove the tray together with the repair fixture and the hoses from the windscreen.
43 | Remove Mylar
Use a razor blade to detach the Mylar square from the glass surface.
44 | Scratch resin with razor blade
Excess resin is scraped off with a razor blade. The blade should always be guided in a right angle to the disc.
45 | Polish repair zone
Finally, the impact point is polished with a drop of stone chip polish and a polishing felt.
